It was a step toward getting more comfortable with their bodies and Peeta found himself not feeling any shame for it. There was no reason to. He loved Katniss for the person she was and this was simply another way to explore their affections.

He sighed against the kiss when she daringly touched him as well, his own hands moving up her back again and around the front, back to the slope of her sides, over her backside and the backs of her thighs as far as his fingers could reach... before sliding up the front again where there bodies weren't pressed together, until they could once more settle on her hips. She really was beautiful and he didn't care if the thought was the cheesiest thing in the world.

It was becoming harder to ignore the arousal that was building up and pressed against her pelvis between them, and even though Peeta wasn't self conscious about it, it made all of this seem that much more real. They were really going to do this... though if Katniss changed her mind he'd understand.
