She didn't want to let any doors shut between them. Because if they did, she knew she wouldn't be seeing Peeta till the cornucopia. And that couldn't happen.

So here they were, standing awkwardly in the bathroom of her quarters in the Tribute suite. Because they both needed to wash the day away, but neither of them wanted to approach the elephant in the room of showering...without doors closing between them. At least Katniss didn't, and she assumed Peeta didn't.

Hopefully the Capitol wouldn't lock one of them in the shower all night. But really, she wouldn't be surprised right now.

Everything in her felt like it was twisting up, winding tight in her belly, and she arched against him, pushing, not sure where it was going just wanting it. Her toes curled into the sheets, one hand twisted with his, the other holding him to her.

And then suddenly it she got there, where ever it was, and she felt like every muscle in her body was strung tight, before letting out a cry against his throat, holding tighter if that was even possible. The sensation was more than she could handle, and as it ebbed away she gripped him tightly, panting.

His lips were pressed to her jaw when it happened and for a split second he wasn't really sure what to do. Thankfully instinct set in before he could overthink anything, keeping his hand pressed against her with hers holding it, though his fingers did slow down. His breath was heavy against her skin despite her being the one who just reached her peak, mind fuzzy with the thought that that just happened.

"Katniss..." he breathes out quietly, lifting his head a little so he could properly see her.

She stared up at him, her grey eyes heavy as she tried to get herself back down in her own body. The night wasn't threw, she didn't want it to end but...that had been intense.

"That was...wow." She said, when she finally had some breath to use. Her body moved against him, still aware of how hard he was, still knowing there was a lot more to come.

"Y-Yeah..." he agreed with her. "I wasn't expecting that either..."

Though when she moved he suddenly became aware of the fact that he was still aroused and pressed against her. The grinding made him groan and press down again, wanting so much but not wanting to rush either of them into it. "K-Katniss..." He wasn't sure how to ask, how to proceed with what they both knew they were going to do.

Starting to come back down, Katniss looked up at him, a smile playing at the corner of her lips. Everything felt warm, and heavy, and good.

And she wanted him to feel the same way. It took a moment to gather up the courage, to try to figure out what she was doing, but finally she push back on his shoulders gently.

"Lay back Peeta..."

A slight sense of panic set in when she said that, not for himself but out of concern for her.

"Are you sure? We don't have to. You don't have to, I mean. I already... we... if it's too much..."

He had never in his life stumbled over so many words.

"I'm sure. Lay back."

She wasn't sure, actually. Once she had him on his back, she only had the vaguest idea what she was going to do. But she felt bold, some energy still coiled up in her belly, and she wanted to make him feel as good as he had made her feel.

It really was silly to back out now anyway, especially when he didn't want to. If Katniss wasn't uncomfortable continuing then he wouldn't be either. So another moment later he listened, carefully turning onto his back, suddenly feeling so much more exposed as he watched her, reached out for her simply to not be apart for a second.

Moving with him, she laid on her side, pressed against his, and let herself take in his body. It was beautiful, and she didn't let herself shy away, even when she reached part she previously had no lingered on.

Taking a deep breath, she let her hands follow her eyes, finger tip tracing over his collar bone, before dipping down along his sternum. Over his flat belly, brushing lower over the curls there and then running her fingertips, gently, up his length.

Her gaze felt more powerful that anything right now, judging him steadily, fully, but he could tell she could somehow see nothing wrong with it, even with his leg so out in the open.

Well. Everything was kind of out in the open right now.

When she began to touch him, his breath caught and for a few long seconds he forgot how to exhale. He kept trusting eyes on her, body building up tension until he cold finally... finally release it, a breathless groan escaping with it, louder than he had intended.

The fact that she had caused that sound from him, that her hands had gotten it...it started that tension coiling all the tighter. She didn't need to ask if she was doing this right. The way his body was tensing, breath hitch...she knew it was right.

Wrapping her fingers more firmly around the hard flesh, she began to slowly move her hand over it.

It felt good- no... better than good. He'd never had anyone touch him before and it was more amazing than he'd imagined, especially knowing it was with Katniss. Perhaps the situation of their night and what was to come tomorrow had something to do with the surge of emotions he was feeling, but all Peeta knew was that he never wanted to let go of tonight. Any of it.

His breathing was labored, heavy and deep with the occasional moan of pleasure or mumbled syllables of her name. His eyes eventually shut though his hands reached for her, fingers skimming up her arm or side, pulling her in so he could kiss her with all of the passion he could muster.

She returned it with every bit she could, pressing against him, trying to get as much contact with his body as she possibly could.

The way this made her feel heavy, light headed...it was almost like alcohol. With none of the draw backs. But so much better.

Sliding her hands over his length, she nipped at his mouth, aloung his jaw, before burying her face against his neck and looking down at him, laid out for her. And her hand moving over his erection, slowly and firmly.

When Katniss pulled away from the kiss he let out another unexpectedly loud moan, fingers digging into her lower back as he pushed up toward her hand, hips squirming. He had no idea how she was doing it but he was already throbbing with pleasure from head to toe, his good leg sliding up against the bed so his toes could curl into the sheets in pleasure.

"Kat... Katniss," he breathed out, murmuring her name quietly under his breath as a spark of pleasure pooled and spread right where she was touching him, everywhere her body fit against his warm and happy. He wasn't sure if he should stop her now or let her continue, not wanting to end things so soon before... the main event.

"Peeta, my Peeta..." She murmured into his neck, kissing and nipping at the skin there.

The way he was moving, under her hands, the way he was writhing...she kissed harder, pressed closer.

"Peeta, I want...I want more..."

It took everything in him to reach down and put his hand over hers, trying to stop her.

"T-Then you should probably stop..." he chuckled, breathless and nervous but anxious at once. He didn't even know where all of his limbs were right now, too caught up in the moment. "You're... making me feel amazing, don't worry. I want more too..."

She stilled her hand, fingers still wrapped firmly around his length but not pushing him forward any more. Because she wanted more, and he wanted more, and there was still so much farther to go.

"What do we do now?" It seemed weird to just...climb on. And the thought cause her cheeks to pink. But she wasn't sure how else to go forward.

It was a good question, one he was finding difficulty processing with her hand still wrapped around him. It took another moment and a deep breath before he was sitting up and attempting to roll them over again, hands on either side of her.

"Is this... okay?"

She looked up at him, eyes wide in the dark as a touch of panic spread through her.

This was it. Last chance to say no.

Instead, she nodded, sliding her hand up to rest on his rib cage.

He leaned in to kiss beneath one of her eyes, murmuring. "If we ever want to stop, we can. Don't... feel like you can't tell me." Because this was new for the both of them and despite the intense desire crackling between them, he didn't want to hurt her.

She nodded, nuzzling against his face as she did.

"I will. And you...uhm..." She trailed off, not really imagining he needed that pep talk at all, actually. Shifting into the bed, trying to make sure she was comfortable, she ran her hands down his side. The bare skin was new territory she was already becoming familiar with.

Although he hadn't reached that peak she had so far, he was more than happy to take things gradually. This helped loosen them up anyway and get used to the idea of doing this all the way, together. Together was the most important part.

Her touch made him feel much more relaxed, one of his own hands sliding against her thigh encouragingly. "I can... use my fingers first. It might help to uh... get used to it."

Taking a deep breath, she nodded, not sure if she could verbalize her agreement. The idea of Peeta's fingers there again...yeah she wanted that.

Shifting her legs, she let her thighs open more for him, pressing her face against his arm.

He was able to shift between her legs more comfortingly now and his movements had more confidence behind them now that they had become more relaxed with one another. It was still tense and that heavy burden of what was expected to come next still hung over them, but Peeta was sure that they would be fine. They would take it slow.

Another soft kiss was left on her lips, repeating the action over and over as his fingers teased a trail down between her legs again, sliding down her sex with more ease. He didn't want to hurt her, had no idea how much experience she had with anything inside her... so he took his time, letting her get used to the feeling of being touched down there again first.

Her experience was limited to tonight. The few times she had felt this tight, hot feeling she had always pushed it away, clamped her thighs together and tried to ignore it.

And she had no idea it could lead to all this.
